Shamrock Renewable Fuels Ltd (SRFL) will generate electricity using heat derived from biomass materials and will produce a range of solid fuels using renewable resources such as wood and willow, for both commercial and domestic consumers.
Located in Balrath, Kells, Co Meath, Ireland, the SRFL biofuel production plant will produce dried fuel, briquettes and pellets, as well as dried firewood.
Both the biofuel production plant and the CHP (Combined Heat & Power) plant have been designed and engineered by HDS Energy Ltd, who are also designing and manufacturing the high-pressure boiler for the CHP plant. HDS Energy is a long established Irish designer and manufacturer of industrial boilers with a significant track record in the design, manufacture, installation and operation of industrial scale biomass boilers and related infrastructure.
HDS Energy clients are active in the dairy and food production industry, pharmaceutical , healthcare, manufacturing and energy production industries also. HDS Energy design and manufacture all of their projects at their plant in Kells, Co Meath, Ireland.
The project is being led by the owner and Managing Director of HDS Energy, Alan Fox.
